PALESTINE ’36
In 1936, as Palestinian villages revolt against British colonial rule, Yusuf navigates between Jerusalem and his rural home, amidst escalating unrest and a pivotal moment for the British Empire.
The 7pm screening on April 8th will be introduced by historian and Jewish Voice for Peace activist Daniel Segal, who will also moderate an audience discussion of the film after its conclusion. For more than a decade, Professor Segal has taught seminars on the path to a just peace in Palestine-Israel, and he travelled in occupied Palestine in both 2018 and 2023. His study tour in 2023 included meeting with Annemarie Jacir, the director of "Palestine 1936," at the Dar Jacir Art and Research center in occupied Palestine.
