We were thrilled to invite you to an outdoor screening of “Peanut Butter Falcon,” as we’ve always promised our first screening would be for our members. While we knew the limited capacity of the IndyFringe Pocket Park would mean only a few of our 872 members could come, we did not expect a sellout in 2 hours!
We love the idea of the IndyFringe Pocket Park as an outdoor screening venue. With the sun now setting earlier, we can show a movie and not make it a late night. But what we have to figure out is how many people we can accommodate, with reasonable ability to see and hear the movie? This first time, we set a conservative capacity, which we’ll adjust up or down with experience. We really wish we could accommodate many more of you for this screening!
Thank you for your continued support of the Kan-Kan Cinema and the Indianapolis Film Project, the non-profit that powers the only locally-owned art house cinema. I want to remind you that no matter when you joined the Kan-Kan as a member, your membership “year” will not begin until the day we open our theatre doors. While you’re not able to redeem all the benefits of your membership right now, you will still have a full year to do so once we open.
To all 872 members who have shown faith in us with your purchase, thank you. Your trust has meant so much to us, the funds helped us keep our small staff employed and most of all, we are confident that when we can open our theatre, we have a base of people who agree that our city needs a center for all things film. We can’t wait to welcome you to our beautiful theatre. In the meantime, keep an eye on our website, social media and The Weekly for the many things we’re always cooking up.
My best to all of you,
Louise Henderson – Executive Director
